🌱 New Experiments: Garden Planner & World Improvements - December 2025

Hey Crunchy Gardeners!

We've been working on some new experiments and wanted to share what we're trying out. As always, we're curious to see what resonates with you!

🌱 Garden Planner Prototype

We're prototyping a new Garden Planner feature that helps you schedule your garden based on your location. The idea is to help you know when to buy seeds, when to plant them, when to transplant, and when to expect your plants to flower or fruit.

What We're Trying:

Location-Based Scheduling: The planner uses your location to calculate optimal planting times, frost dates, and growing windows
Smart Notifications: Get email alerts when it's time to buy seeds, plant, transplant, or when your plants are about to flower or fruit
Plant Tracking: Keep track of what you want to grow, what you've bought, and what you've planted—from dream to harvest
Seed Starter Integration: Plan when to start seeds indoors and track your seed starter pots

The goal is to help you stay on top of your garden schedule without having to remember all the timing details yourself. It's still in early stages, but we're excited to see if this is something that would be useful!

🗺️ 2D World Improvements

We've been fixing some issues with the 2D world experience:

Better Map Rendering: Fixed those annoying sky blue patches that appeared when moving between different areas
Smoother Navigation: The world should feel more responsive when exploring different locations
Authentication Fixes: Logged-in users can now reliably access their personal gardens
New Audio Engine: Refactored the janky audio system—fingers crossed this fixes the bugs!

🎮 What We're Thinking About

We're always experimenting with new ideas. Some things we're considering:

Forum Integration: Making it possible to access community discussions directly from gardens in the 2D world
More Interactive Elements: Adding more things you can interact with as you explore
Better Garden Planning Tools: Expanding the planner with more features based on what you find useful
